A licensee must operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the facility was not operated in a manner that promoted the health, safety and dignity of persons in care. Specifically, that the Provincial Health Office Orders were not being followed regarding wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Corrective action: Ensure that the facility is operated in a manner that promotes the health, safety and dignity of persons in care. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention . Action/s Required by Licensing: On August 22, 2022, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included a staff reviewed the Provincial Health Orders and infection prevention and control measures on August 3, 2022, signage was posted in all areas regarding PPE use and an email was sent to all staff, and PPE use was discussed at the leadership meeting. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On August 22 and October 18, 2022, Licensing received confirmation that education for the staff involved was completed on August 3, 2022, signage was checked on August 24, 2022 and the leadership meeting discussion was held on July 6 and August 31, 2022.
