Category/Description
A licensee must immediately notify a parent or emergency contact if, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, the child is involved in, or may have been involved in, a reportable incident described in Schedule H.
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that reportable incidents, as defined in Schedule H of the Child Care Licensing Regulation, had not been reported to Licensing.
Corrective action: Ensure while under the care or supervision of the licensee, notification to a parent or emergency contact is immediate if, the child is involved in, or may have been involved in, a reportable incident described in Schedule H. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to this contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On June 3, Manager submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: Manager would conduct a staff meeting on June 12, 2024 to provide all staff with additional training related to incident reporting, specifically reportable incidents, non-reportable incidents and the reporting process, staff would be reminded that the Manager was available to answer any questions or concerns if they were unsure an incident was reportable, three binders with examples would be implemented to support staff with documentation; communication, non-reportable , and reportable Incidents, new staff would be provided with training on reportable and non reportable incidents as a part of their training package and be required to sign off on. Manager would follow up with Licensing on June 12, 2024 to discuss meeting minutes. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On June 12, 2024, Licensing received meeting minutes which included discussion on training related to incident reporting, specifically reportable incidents, non-reportable incidents and the reporting process, reminder that the Manager was available to answer any questions or concerns if they were unsure an incident was reportable, implementation of three binders with examples to support staff with documentation; communication, non-reportable , and reportable Incidents, documentation that new staff would be provided with training on reportable and non reportable incidents as a part of their training package and staff signatures of review as indicated in the corrective action plan dated June 3, 2024.
