3070 - RCR 82 
 

A licensee must ensure that the care and supervision of a person in care is consistent with the terms and conditions of the person in care’s care plan.

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the care and supervision of a person in care was not consistent with their care plan.

Corrective action: Ensure that the care and supervision of a person in care is consistent with the terms and conditions of the person in care's plan. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On August 19, 2024, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included that a care plan was updated to indicate between the hours of 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., there was one staff on to assist and a call was to be made to the travel nurse for support with lifts. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On August 27, 2024, Licensing was made aware that the person in care no longer resided at the facility as of August 26, 2024.

A licensee must ensure that, at all times, the employees on duty are sufficient in numbers, training and experience, and organized in an appropriate staffing pattern, to meet the needs of the persons in care,

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined there was not at all times, employees on duty sufficient in numbers, training and experience, and organized in an appropriate staffing pattern to meet the needs of a person in care.

Corrective action: Ensure that at all times, the employees on duty are sufficient in numbers, training and experience, and organized in an appropriate staffing pattern to meet the needs of persons in care. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On August 19, 2024, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included that a care plan was updated for a person in care which indicated between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., only one staff member was on shift and the rest of the hours were double staffed and if staffing was short, the Manager on Duty was to assist. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On August 27, 2024, Licensing was made aware that the person in care no longer resided at the facility as of August 26, 2024.
