A licensee must do all of the following:(b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined a staff did not demonstrate the skills and abilities to carry out the duties as assigned. Specifically, that a staff was not using appropriate tone of voice with children in care.
Corrective action: Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to this contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On May 25, 2022, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: staff enrolled in the following training: The Ethical Journey - ECE Code of Ethics and "What to Do When it Feels Like a Zoo", both to be completed in June 2022. Manager would also conduct weekly check-ins with the staff, until September 2022. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On June 22 and June 28, 2022, Licensing received proof of completion of courses. On October 4, 2022, Licensing received proof of weekly check-ins from June 2022 to September 2022.
A licensee must ensure that behavioural guidance is appropriate to the age and development of the child who is receiving the guidance,
