3020 - CCALA 7(1)(b)(i) 
 

A licensee must do all of the following:(b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that a nap time policy was implemented that required all children to nap.

Corrective action: Ensure a community care facility operates in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On December 16 and 17, 2024 Licensee Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan indicated that if a child did not fall asleep staff would take the child to the carpet area and provided choices of activities and play, staff will never force children to lie down and sleep. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. Licensing to review and monitor this corrective action plan.

3090 - CCLR 44(1)(a) 
 

A licensee must provide to children a comprehensive and coordinated program of indoor and outdoor activities (except REC only) that is designed for the development and care of children,

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that children were offered no programming alternatives during nap time.

Corrective action: Ensure children are provided a comprehensive and coordinated program of indoor and outdoor activities that is designed for the development and care of children. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On December 16 and 17, 2024 Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that staff had physically picked up children against their will as part of behaviour guidance practices.

Corrective action: Ensure that behavioural guidance is appropriate to the age and development of the child who is receiving the guidance. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On December 16 and 17, 2024 Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan indicated that at no time will staff pick up a child and move the against their will. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. Licensing to review and monitor this corrective action plan.
