Category/Description
A licensee must ensure that a person in care is not, while under the care or supervision of the licensee subjected to any of the following types of abuse or neglect, as described in section 1 of Schedule D: emotional abuse
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that a person in care was subjected to emotional abuse.
Corrective action: Ensure that while under the care or supervision of the Licensee persons in care are not subjected to emotional abuse. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On August 1 and 18, 2023, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: a staff meeting on August 24, 2023 that reviewed policies related to bill of rights, abuse and neglect, code of ethics, incident reporting, and risk management, environmental modifications for a person in care had been implemented, a person in care's care plan and behavioural support training was reviewed with a staff member on July 11, 2023 and staff meetings were held to discuss concerns with neighbours and care planning for a person in care. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On August 21 and 24, 2023, Licensing received a copy of a risk management procedure, staff meeting minutes and signed policies.
