Observation: Through the course of the investigation process, Licensing determined that the licensee did not operate the community care facility in a manner that promoted the health, safety and dignity of persons in care. Specifically, related to documentation.
Corrective action: Ensure that a Licensee operates the community care facility in a manner that promotes the health, safety and dignity of persons in care. Specifically, related to documentation. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On November 18, 2022, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: bowel care and documentation training was completed for all staff by January 15, 2023, an email was sent to all nurses and care aides to remind them of the bowel care protocols and responsibilities and the facility reviewed the bowel care policy and procedure in January 2023. This corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On November 18, 2022 and January 20, 2023, Licensing received confirmation that the staff training had been completed and received a copy of the emails sent to staff.
