No screen time offered to children under 2 years of age
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that children under 2 years of age had been offered screen time.
Corrective action: Ensure no screen time was offered to children under 2 years of age. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to this contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On August 18, 2023, Licensee Contact submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: screen time would not be offered to children under 2 years of age, this would be reviewed with staff. On October 19, 2023, Licensing received evidence that staff had signed off on the screen time policy on September 4, 2023.
All licensed child care programs limit screen time (TV, computer, electronic games) to 30 minutes or less per day
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that children had over 30 minutes of screen time per day on multiple dates.
Corrective action: Ensure all licensed child care programs limit screen time to 30 minutes or less per day. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan specific to this contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On August 18, 2023, Licensee Contact submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: screen time for any program would not exceed 30 minutes per day, screen time would be documented in the log book, staff would be given a copy of and review the corrective action plan. On October 19, 2023, Licensing received evidence that staff had signed off on review of the screen time policy.
