3000 - CCALA 7(1)(b)(i) 
 

A licensee must do all of the following:(b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the staff did not demonstrate the skills and abilities to carry out the duties assigned to them. Specifically, that the staff did not follow the confidentiality policy.

Corrective action: Ensure the community care facility is operated in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care, specifically regarding suitability of staff members. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing. Action/s Required by Licensing: On December 19, 2023 Licensee Contact submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. This corrective action plan included that each staff member received a copy of the Confidentiality Policy and the staff member's signed and dated the Confidentiality Policy and reviewed the Confidentiality Policy semi-yearly to ensure staff had a good understanding of the policy. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On December 23, 2022, Licensing received information that the staff reviewed and signed a confidentiality policy.

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that staff did not demonstrate the skills and abilities to carry out the duties as assigned. Specifically, that staff had not followed the safe release of children policy.

Corrective action: Ensure the community care facility is operated in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care, specifically regarding suitability of staff members. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to this contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On December 19, 2022 Licensee Contact submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included that staff reviewed the safe release of children policy during a staff meeting. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On December 23, 2022, Licensing received an update that the staff reviewed the safe release policy during a staff meeting.

A licensee must do all of the following:(b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that staff did not demonstrate the skills and abilities to carry out the duties as assigned. Specifically, that staff used inappropriate behavioral guidance.

Corrective action: Ensure the community care facility is operated in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care, specifically regarding suitability of staff members. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to this contravention. Actions/s Required by Licensing: December 19, 2022, Licensee Contact submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action play included information on challenging behaviors and early childhood behavioral management strategies. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On December 19, 2022 Licensing received confirmation that the staff received training on challenging behaviors and early childhood behavioral management strategies.

3030 - CCLR 52(1)(c) 
 

A licensee must ensure that a child, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, is not subjected to any of the following: (c) harsh, belittling or degrading treatment by an employee or another child, whether verbal, emotional or physical, that could humiliate the child or undermine the child’s self respect

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that the staff used inappropriate behavioral guidance with the children.

Corrective action: Ensure that a child, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, is not subjected to any of the following: (c) harsh, belittling or degrading treatment by an employee or another child, whether verbal, emotional or physical, that could humiliate the child or undermine the child's self-respect. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On December 19, 2022 Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. This corrective action plan included staff received training on challenging behaviors and early childhood behavioral management strategies. The Licensee Contact conducted bi-weekly check-ins with the staff. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On December 19, 2022, Licensing received a copy of the details of the training and implemented check-ins.
