A licensee must ensure that the policies and procedures referred to in subsection (1) are implemented by employees.

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined policies and procedures related to missing and wandering child were not implemented by staff. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to this contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On November 16, 2023, the Licensee Contact submitted a corrective action plan. The corrective action plan included an updated policy that outlined when a child was considered missing after being signed into the program. The revised policy would be communicated with staff by December 1, 2023. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On December 14,2023, Licensing received confirmation that the staff had reviewed and read the revised policy.

3070 - CCLR 55(2)(a) 
 

A licensee must notify the medical health officer within 24 hours after (a) a child is involved in, or may have been involved in, a reportable incident described in Schedule H while under the care or supervision of the licensee,

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined Licensing was not notified of a reportable incident, specifically regarding a missing and wandering child. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to this contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On November 16, 2023, the Licensee Contact submitted a corrective action plan. The corrective action plan included an updated policy that stated the manager was to contact Licensing for notification and reporting. The revised policy would be communicated with staff by December 1, 2023. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On December 14, 2023, Licensing received confirmation that the staff had reviewed and read the revised policy.
