3030 - CCLR 52(1)(c) 
 

A licensee must ensure that a child, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, is not subjected to any of the following: (c) harsh, belittling or degrading treatment by an employee or another child, whether verbal, emotional or physical, that could humiliate the child or undermine the child’s self respect

Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that two children were involved in verbal and physical harassment towards one another.

Corrective action: Ensure that a child, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, is not subjected to any of the following: (c) harsh, belittling or degrading treatment by an employee or another child, whether verbal, emotional or physical, that could humiliate the child or undermine the child's self respect. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan specific to this contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On September 14, 2022 Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: staff would hold a meeting with all children in care around bullying, which would include an activity to promote kindness and friendship, and all parents would be made aware of bullying at the end of the day. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On February 28, 2023 the Licensee Contact confirmed the corrective action plan had been followed.

3070 - CCLR 58(2)(b) 
 

The licensee must review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

Observation: Through the investigation process Licensing determined care plan on file had not been reviewed annually by the parent.

Corrective action: Ensure to review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan specific to this contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On September 14, 2022, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: staff would review the Licensing Info Sheet on Care Plans and the BGCCVI policy on Care Plans, all care plans would be read and signed by the parent, supervisor, and staff and would be updated to reflect the BGC facility the child is currently attending. The corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. On February 28, 2023 the Licensee Contact confirmed the corrective action plan had been followed and all care plans were up to date and signed by parents.
