A licensee must do all of the following: ensure that policies are implemented by employees.
Observation: Through the investigation process, Licensing determined that staff had not implemented the Personal Emergency Response policy.
Corrective action: Ensure that all policies are implemented by employees. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On January 19, 2023, the Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included that by January 31, 2023, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) worksheet was to include that a check was to be completed by the unit team lead that all Health Care Aides (HCAs) had their phones with them and in working order and a staff was to review the Personal Emergency Response policy and sign off their understanding. This corrective action plan was reviewed and accepted by Licensing. Licensing to review and monitor this corrective action plan. Follow Up Inspection required. On February 7, 2023, Licensing received a copy of the LPN Daily Worksheet and Report, dated January 24, 2023, which indicated that 22 staff were audited to ensure that they were carrying their portable work phone an the volume was on and an email, dated February 22, 2023 which stated that a staff was not going to return to care duties.
