A licensee must ensure that a person in care is not, while under the care or supervision of the licensee subjected to any of the following types of abuse or neglect, as described in section 1 of Schedule D: neglect
Observation: Through the Licensing Investigation process, Licensing determined that persons in care were subjected to neglect while under the care or supervision of the Licensee.
Corrective action: Ensure that a person in care is not, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, subjected to neglect. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On July 26, 2022 Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included a written warning and education from management to the staff who subjected the persons in care to neglect. The corrective action plan has been reviewed and accepted by Licensing. Licensing to review and monitor this corrective action plan. On August 8, 2022, Licensing received an email confirmation from the Manager, which indicated that the corrective action plan was completed.
A licensee must do all of the following: (b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote (i) the health, safety and dignity of persons in care,
Observation: Through the Licensing investigation process, Licensing determined that the Licensee had not ensured that the facility was operated in a manner that would promote the health, safety, and dignity of persons in care, specifically related to documentation around Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
Corrective action: Ensure that the community care facility is operated in a manner that promotes the health, safety, dignity of persons in care, specifically related to staff completing documentation of care. Action/s Required by Licensee: Licensee to submit a corrective action plan to Licensing specific to the contravention. Action/s Required by Licensing: On July 26, 2022, Licensee submitted a corrective action plan to Licensing. The corrective action plan included: a memo was provided to staff that outlined the process of proper documentation, specifically, persons in care refusal of baths, or when baths or other alternative methods were provided to persons in care. This corrective action plan has been reviewed and accepted by Licensing. Licensing to review and monitor this corrective action plan. On August 8, 2022, Licensing received an email confirmation from the Manager, which indicated that the corrective action plan was completed.
