Non-Critical Inadequate Chemical Analysis Data
Raw water sampling frequency needs to be increased to monthly. Please collect a raw water sample when the treated sample is collected. Be sure to run the water for at least a minute to flush out any contamination in the hose (sampling directly from the tap would be preferable). A lab analysis for nitrate, nitrite, manganese, iron, hydrogen sulfide and turbidity must be completed by mid-June and results forward to Island Health by July 1,2024. Lab analysis for nitrate and nitrite will be required annually going forward. 5 year comprehensive chemical analysis is due in 2025. Annual report to water users to be completed by June 20,2024. Template enclosed. Please provide completed report to all water users and a copy to Island Health.

UV an filter recently serviced by water system company. Please adhere to their recommendations regarding more frequent replacement of filters. An error reading on the UV lamp means the water was not being disinfected. As the well is within 30m of the septic field. It is critical that the disinfection system is always operational. New distribution line installed since previous inspection (separate line to 2079). Any alteration to a water system design requires pre-approval by Island Health.
Corrective Actions: Recommend applying for register well by contacting FrontCounter BC.
