Comments
A routine inspection was conducted of this water system serving a lab facility that is currently used for research and development. The water system is used only for cleaning and sanitation, and bottled water is available for use in lab processing. The facility is not accessible to the public. The water system is potentially eligible for potable water exemption as per section 3.1 of the Drinking Water Protection Regulation. Please follow up with the Drinking Water Officer (DWO) by May 31, 2024, to apply for a potable water exemption. The water source is rainwater harvested from roof catchment systems and collected in a 2,000 gallon underground cement cistern. The current treatment train includes the following: 5 micron, 2 micron, and 1 micron absolute filters, and non-NSF 55 Class A UV unit (Sterilight Model #S12Q-PA).
