Comments
Well has been connected as new source to replace lake water. Chemical and bacteriological sampling of finished water satisfactory. Chlorine residual at 0.37 ppm. Onsite operator has Small Water System certification. 2022 annual Report to water users delivered and submitted to Island Health as required. Good history of submitting monthly water samples on time. Good maintenance and management of water system. Note: Operation manual for filters and UV unit should be downloaded and kept onsite for trouble-shooting reference. Note: Standpipes plumbed to raw lake water may be unlocked to make readily available for use in fire fighting but faucets must be labelled with a sign to caution campers not to drink the water. Use strong wording e.g. WARNING - Contaminated Water-Do Not Drink. Tap at shop must be similarly labelled. Irrigation with raw lake water: recommend not creating aerosols and not irrigating in areas which will be immediately used by campers or residents. Recommend annual flushing of distribution lines from standpipes. No changes can be made in "water shed" or to distribution lines without prior approval of the construction by Island Health. Sampling schedule will be revised for new supply source. Comply with new sampling schedule in permit conditions. New permit issued with conditions.
