Additional Comments

NOTE: Overall the coffee shop area appeared neat and organized. Main kitchen three-compartment sink and food prep area not in use / not checked today. Staff were knowledgeable about food safety practice in regards to hand washing, sanitizing dishware, and monitoring food temperatures. Good job storing employee personal items as well as employee beverages below, separate, or otherwise away from food prep, food, clean dishware, and single-use items such as straws or cups.

During today's inspection the following was verbally reviewed: employee health policy (not working when sick or exposed to certain illness); handling orders with food allergens; ensuring foods offered for self-service in the retail cooler all have the ingredients, allergens, and net weight on the labels; ensuring all food contact surfaces such as blenders, pitchers, spoons, etc. are washed, rinsed, sanitized, and allowed to air dry at least once every four (4) hours of use; the importance of air drying of dishware; and hand washing procedures/policy.

Discussed the regulation for there to be a written vomiting and diarrheal clean up procedures (VDH / VDACS Guidance for clean-up June 2021 guidance in binder with notes about custodian staff handling clean up) and you already should have a clean up kit (custodian staff have this) ; also you must post all pages of your most recent inspection OR post a sign saying inspection is available for viewing on request (QR code poster present near cash register) - you can post this near your food permit which also must be visible to the public / your customers (VDH food permit expiring 8/2024 is posted near the cash register)
