10: 2310 Using a Handwashing Sink 10 OUT 2310 The only hand washing sink in the downstairs baby room had been used to rinse out and clean baby / infant bottles. There were bottles and bottle pieces drying by this hand sink and a bottle brush beside the basin to the hand sink.
Corrective Actions: Correction ONLY use a hand wash sink for washing hands. 2310 B. A handwashing sink shall not be used for purposes other than handwashing.Pf Furthermore, baby cups or bottles need to be washed, rinsed, sanitized, and allowed to air dry. The only 3-compartment sink is upstairs in the kitchen.

Additional Comments

NOTE: Overall the kitchen area was neat and organized with food stored above and away from chemicals. Left a copy of OEHS page 19-20 for an employee health policy that can be signed . Reviewed employee health policy, hand washing, dishwashing procedures, and allergens during today’s inspection. Left “This Sink is for Hand Washing Only” Poster, information on upcoming ServSafe class thru cooperative extension, and copy of guidance for clean up of vomiting and diarrheal events in food establishments.
Also, DSS inspection upon request paperwork was left during today’s inspection.


Discussed the regulation changes including: starting summer 2021 for there to be a written vomiting and diarrheal clean up procedures (left VDH / VDACS Guidance for clean-up June 2021 guidance again) and you already should have a clean up kit ( has in room near restroom) ; also starting summer 2021 you must post all pages of your most recent inspection OR post a sign saying inspection is available for viewing on request (previously left QR code poster that is posted in kitchen) – you can post this near your food permit which also must be visible to the public / your customers (posted in kitchen).
